Our first practical experiment is coming soon
Can AI make a good magic trick more entertaining? We put it to work on a perfectly good card trick, with chickens, paperwork, and a very small budget.
Visit the journal on Substack ↗Artificial intelligence can do some amazing things. So can magicians and mentalists. Both can surprise us, fool us, and make us wonder what's really going on.
The Artificial Mentalist explores what happens when artificial intelligence meets magic and mentalism. Along the way, we'll experiment with new ideas, revisit old effects and methods, explore what AI can and can't do, and occasionally discover that the smartest thing in the room isn't quite as smart as it thinks. Although sometimes it is.
We'll share what works, what doesn't, and what we learn along the way.
What this site isn't: We're not here to debate the political or social implications of artificial intelligence. If AI isn't for you, that's fine. Our focus is practical: helping magicians and mentalists use these tools to develop better effects, improve methods, strengthen performances, and explore new creative possibilities.
Who is the Artificial Mentalist? Anyone curious enough to find out what happens when artificial intelligence meets magic and mentalism. If that's you, welcome. You're one of us.
Ideas, experiments, and practical lessons from the meeting of artificial intelligence, magic, and mentalism. Some things work. Some don't. Both can teach us something useful.
